Swearing is Big and Clever: Cussing in Bruges

Saturday, August 16, 2008, 6:50 PM

For anyone who enjoys some spirited comedy cussing, the movie In Bruges is a treat. Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson star as a pair of inept hitmen exiled to Belgium in the wake of an assassination-gone-wrong, with Ralph Feinnes as their cockney boss. The best extra feature on the DVD is this little compilation of all the swearing in the film.

Warning: not for those with delicate ears. Seriously.

That's hilarious! Like SSISB, I'd forgotten I meant to see this; adding it to the stack now. Thanks.

Cool. Saw IN BRUGES via cable-on-demand so didn't have access to special features. Definitely worth seeing (both the film and your linked clip).

Sidenote: I didn't think I'd see Fiennes any leaner and meaner than he was in RED DRAGON. I was wrong.

Ok, I watched it. Hmm. Not the best film of its sort. So freakin' up your alley, though.

This is so f**king my movie!!! Oh my delicate ears! ;o) Seriously, before I moved out of Brooklyn, this clip could have described me to a T. I even used to curse in front of my parents - but only when I was driving!

I'm at the library right now (no Internet at home - again!) so better pass on watching that clip. I'm #3 on the library reserve list for BRUGES. Have heard mixed reviews. Am eager to see for myself and opine.

Stuart,

I saw this alone in a cinema in Denver, but I think I laughed enough for twenty people. That an Englishman could understand the Irish so well...
